Fake news! EFCC denies raiding CJN Onnoghen's farm in Nasarawa
- EFCC denies sending operatives to raid a farm reportedly linked to suspended CJN Walter Onnoghen
- Spokesman of the anti-corruption agency Orilade says the agency was unaware of claims that a cameraman and policemen invaded the said farm
- The agency also denied raiding the home of the embattled principal judicial officer
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied reports that its operatives raided a farm linked to suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Walter Onnoghen in Nasarawa state.
Channels TV reports that the anti-corruption said it was unaware of the purported raid reportedly carried out by a cameraman and some policemen on the farm in Masaka area of the northern state.

The Commission's denial came through its spokesperson Tony Orilade, barely 24 hours after the EFCC also dismissed reports that it raided Justice Onnoghen’s residence.
In addition to not raiding Onnoghen's house, EFCC also denied inviting the CJN.
The anti-corruption agency described the reports as ‘fake news’, and urged Nigerians to disregard the claims.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported recently that the suspended CJN Onnoghen was absent from the Tuesday, March 12, proceedings of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, for his trial over allegations of non-declaration of assets.
While explaining his absence to the three-man bench of the CCT, his lawyer, Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), said he was informed on Monday night, March 11, that his client was suffering from toothache and he tendered a medical report to support the claim.

Legit.ng gathered that the prosecution counsel, Aliyu Umar (SAN), confirmed that he got a copy of the medical report concerning the defendant, signed by Dr. Francis Uche, the medical director of Ideal Medical Services.
