Ship-builders of Mandvi on Gujarat coast fear cyclone fury
The ship-building industry in the town of Mandvi on the coast of Gujarat is currently at risk due to the approaching cyclone Biparjoy, with under-construction wooden ships on the shoreline falling directly in the path. The area is renowned for its ship-building, with wooden ships capable of carrying between 2,200 and 3,000 tons of goods. Around 20 ships in various stages of development are currently at risk.
