Elgar in concert with Jansen puts India on back foot
South Africa were 392 for seven at lunch, a first innings lead of 147. Elgar took his overnight score of 140 to 185 before he gloved a catch down the leg side off Shardul Thakur. Elgar and Jansen (72 not out) had batted for two hours in a morning’s play extended to two-and-a-half hours when Elgar fell after a 287-ball innings which included 28 fours.
