An important goal of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is developing artificial intelligence that is trustworthy for the Defense Department — particularly for making life-or-death recommendations to warfighters, said Matt Turek, deputy director of DARPA's Information Innovation Office.

New York's state budget expected to be late as housing, education negotiations continue

New York’s state budget deadline will be pushed back to next week as negotiations over housing and education remain ongoing, with Gov. Kathy Hochul saying Wednesday she will deliver a bill to lawmakers delaying the budget’s due date until April 4. Budget negotiations are conducted in private between the Democrat leaders of the Senate and Assembly and Hochul, also a Democrat. They were expected to drag out beyond the deadline, which falls right after Easter, though officials have indicated the meetings have been productive.
