I’m a beauty fan and tried a full face of Aldi makeup – cheap dupe left my eyes nipping
A BEAUTY fan says her eyes were left nipping after she tried a full face of Aldi makeup.
Rachel Spicer, from Falkirk, regularly shares her “get ready with me” clips and makeup transformations on social media.
The 25-year-old rose to fame on TikTok (@rachelspicer_), by showing off her two “dancing” chins and delights her 2.3million followers with her hilarious videos.
In a recent clip, she tried out some of Aldi’s cheap makeup dupes – but was less than impressed with one of the products.
Rachel started off by applying a Vitabase eye primer, which is a dupe for Bobbi Brown’s £38 viral version, but only costs £4.99.
She was happy with the result, and agreed it definitely worked as a cheap alternative to the Bobbi Brown product.
Then the influencer put on the Aldi eye primer – and she was not a fan.
She said: “Next up we have the Aldi eye primer as well. I just put that on and my eyes are a little bit nippy.
“Yeah the eye primer is a no-no, no from me.”
After quickly wiping it off, she went on to test out the CC cream, which is meant to be like the By Terry CC serum.
Rachel hit out at the lack of different shades Aldi offers for this product, and although she preferred it to the eye primer, she said you could see her spots through the cream.
She said: “Next up is the CC cream. I got the shade in peach. The shade range for everything in Aldi – terrible. You’re talking three or four shades. Really. That’s it.
“So it does say it hydrates and colour corrects and it’s meant to be a glowing base so let’s wait the now.
“Okay it looked really thick when it came out but it’s actually thin. I’m just going to use my hands. Has it added a glow? Yes. Has it colour corrected? No I don’t think so.
“I do really like this actually, this would be for ‘no make up’ make up days, but there’s no coverage.
“I wouldn’t say it colour corrects anything. You can see my spots and I’ve still got a lot of redness. Same with my cheeks.”
A follower seemed to be a fan however, commenting: “The CC does look lush online.”
Another fan joked: “Wow, American Aldi needs to step it up!”
