My marriage only works because I have affairs – festivals like TRNSMT are the perfect place to meet new lovers
A CHEATING wife has revealed that music festivals such as TRNSMT are the perfect time for people to play away.
With over 150,000 preparing to descend on the three-day festival this week, the potent mix of alcohol, huge crowds, music, nostalgia and being in a remote location all contribute to a surge in affairs.
Edith, 41, from Glasgow first strayed from her husband 14 years ago at a festival and credits continuing that practice with keeping her marriage pretty healthy over the years.
She said: “It’s become such a tradition that I don’t ’ view it as cheating anymore.”
Her friends are even aware of what she gets up to and she insists she’s never fallen for someone at a festival longer term and that once it’s done, it’s done.
Leading Sex and Relationships expert at Illicitencounters.com, Jessica Leoni, has revealed the science behind why festivals like TRNSMT are a hotbed for cheating – as 46 per cent admit they’ve cheated on their partner at a festival.
She said: “The festival cheating phenomenon can even be put down to evolutionary biology and chemical reactions.
“Live music can release high levels of dopamine and stimulate other feel-good chemicals like Vasopressin.
“The former has a long association with pleasure and works on the reward centre of the brain.
“High levels of this love drug are also linked to attraction and feeling sexy – which can fuel cheating.
“Forget the Chemical Brothers, its naturally occurring chemicals in the human brain that sparks cheating frenzies at festivals.
“Combine that with alcohol, and a lot of festival goers having limited access to their phones, so no nagging spouses.
“We can predict with some confidence that cheating will take centre stage at TRNSMT this week.”
