James Burrows played the role of Ali Neeson on the cobbles from 2018 until 2020.
But now, James, 32, plays the role of Jonty in new Idris Elba’s new Apple TV+ thriller, Hijack.
The series made its debut on June 28, 2023, with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode every Wednesday until August 2.
Idris, 50, played the role of ‘Sam Nelson,’ an accomplished negotiator in the business world.
He was forced to step up and use all his guile to try and save the lives of the passengers on-board a plane that has been hijacked.
The event unfolds in real time on the seven-hour journey from Dubai to London.
The seven-part series also stars Emmy Award and NAACP Image Award-winner Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife).

As well as roles Coronation Street, James has had other huge roles such as Fighting with My Family, where he starred alongside Florence Pugh as Roy Knight in 2019.
He’s also had appearances in hit TV shows such as Doctors, Casualty, Vera, Silent Witness and Emmerdale.
Although it’s clear the actor has big projects in the pipeline, a source previously revealed to The ASun the door has been left open for James to return to Corrie in the future.
A source said: “It’s not the last fans will see of Ali in Weatherfield.”
