I lost 20 lbs and auditioned for Sports Illustrated – my homemade recipe is so easy, it’ll also cure your fall cold
A SWIMSUIT model has shared the recipe she swore by during her weight loss journey.
The TikToker, who lost 20 pounds, showed her followers how to make her favorite healthy soup.
In her video, Alex Abel (@miss_alexabel) explained: “I love a good chicken noodle soup, and last week when I was feeling sick I made a high-protein homemade chicken noodle soup from scratch.”
She demonstrated the recipe, which she recommended for anyone feeling under the weather.
Alex, who auditioned for Sports Illustrated after slimming down, said her high-protein chicken noodle soup will “cure any cold.”
For the first step, Alex told viewers to heat olive oil in a pot and add four bone-in chicken thighs.
She told her followers: “Season in olive oil, salt, pepper, rosemary, garlic powder.”
When the chicken was cooked, Alex removed it and sauteed three cloves of garlic and one white onion in the same pot.
While waiting for the vegetables to become translucent, she sliced up four carrots and four celery stalks and added them to the pan.
“Add in two 32-ounce chicken boxes of bone broth,” Alex explained to her audience.
She continued: “Put the cooked chicken back in the pot, stir, and let that for about 15 minutes.
“Add in two cups of egg noodles and let it cook on a soft boil for about 20 minutes.”
She explained that as the soup cooked it marinated in all the amazing vitamins from the chicken.
“The bone broth is so high in protein and really will turn any cold right around,” Alex said.
“Make sure to season with thyme, rosemary, bay leaves, salt and pepper, and oregano,” she recommended.
Alex also cooked homemade sourdough garlic bread to accompany the dish.
