IND vs AUS, 1st T20I: Suryakumar Yadav Advises Youngsters To Play Selflessly And Not For Personal Milestones Ahead Of India-Australia Clash
New Delhi: Suryakumar Yadav, the new India captain for the 5-match T20I series sounded very confident and gave the best possible advise to young players of the team ahead of the 1st T20I against Australia in Vizag.
The Mumbai Indians power-hitter has advised the young guns to play selfless cricket and not to crib for personal milestones during the series.
“I have told the youngsters to play selfless and not for personal milestones and to put the team above everything else”, Yadav said the pre-match press conference on Jio Cinema.
The T20I squad will see a number of youngsters which includes the likes of Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh and each and everyone will be looking to make the most use of their opportunities.
This will be India’s first bilateral series following the heart-breaking loss on the hands of the Aussies in the ICC World Cup 2023 Final on 19th November at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Regular skipper, Rohit Sharma along with Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj have been left out of the squad and are rested ahead of the South Africa Tour in December, next month.
This series will be a perfect audition for the youngsters as the ICC T20 World Cup will be next year in June and it will be co-hosted by USA and the West Indies.
