Hundreds of Afghan migrants returned home from Pakistan

Following the ongoing process of deporting Afghan migrants from Pakistan, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation of the caretaker government announced the return of hundreds of migrants from Pakistan to Afghanistan.

On Tuesday, the department announced on its webpage that 813 Afghan migrants had returned to their home country on Monday, December 18.

The Ministry of Refugee Affairs added that the aforementioned migrants returned to the country through the Spin Boldak border after being expelled by Pakistan.

The Spin Boldak border authority in Kandahar province stated that 60 families, including 310 individuals, returned to the country through the mentioned border.

Officials in this province have emphasized that 50 of the newly released prisoners were also part of the forced returnees.

This is while Pakistan has repeatedly cited the main reason for the deportation of migrants, especially those from Afghanistan, as being the lack of legal documents.

Although international organizations have repeatedly asked the Pakistani government to revoke this decision, the Pakistani government has in response to the requests of international organizations repeatedly emphasized that no country in the world accepts migrants without legal documents.
