Nick Saban Addresses Level of Concern Over Michigan’s Alleged Sign Stealing

Less than two weeks out from a Rose Bowl matchup with Michigan, Alabama coach Nick Saban says he isn’t concerned about the opposition stealing signs amid the program’s scandal. 

“Uh, not really,” Saban told reporters Monday. “We always change things up a little bit. We’re focused on what we have to do to try to get good execution, and we’re not really concerned about any of that stuff.”

Michigan staff analyst Connor Stalions resigned two weeks after being suspended by the school following reports that he purchased tickets for 35 games involving future Michigan opponents over multiple seasons to provide for in-person scouting, which is prohibited by NCAA rules. Coach Jim Harbaugh denied he knew anything about it or that he directed any off-campus scouting. As a result, Harbaugh was suspended for the last three games of the regular season by the Big Ten while an NCAA investigation is still ongoing. 

The Wolverines (13–0) earned the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff, while the Crimson Tide (12–1) controversially squeezed in over undefeated Florida State. Kickoff for the CFP semifinal matchup is slated for Jan. 1 at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN.
