WATCH- Virat Kohli’s heartwarming gesture for his young fan
One of the most revered cricket players in the world is Virat Kohli. The younger generation adores him a lot. A young fan got his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) jersey autographed by captain Virat Kohli ahead of play on Day 2 of the Boxing Day Test between India and South Africa at SuperSport Park, Centurion. The meet-up was arranged by veteran commentator Mark Nicholas.
Even though the former India captain was occupied with training, he found time to make the youngster smile and give him an experience he would want to remember and treasure forever. Following his autograph on the RCB shirt, Kohli sat for pictures with his adorable fan before Nicholas joined him.
On the other hand, Tony de Zorzi gave India a reprieve early in the first innings on Day 1, and Kohli left for 38. He tried to hide it behind Kyle Verreynne, but Kagiso Rabada delivered a peach of a delivery and overcame him.
India was knocked out for 245 on Day 2. The star of the South African batting display was Dean Elgar, who amassed 140 from 211 deliveries without losing. With his partnership of 131 for the fourth wicket with Elgar, debutant David Bedingham produced a decent innings of 56 and helped the hosts establish a strong position. In the latter portion of Day 2, Bedingham and Vereynne left in rapid succession, and the Proteas concluded on 256/5, leading by 11.
India’s best bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, took two wickets in 16 overs while giving up only 48 runs. The tourists will need to get the last five South African wickets swiftly on Day 3 to avoid giving up a substantial lead in the first innings.
