The NNE wind has been blowing lightly all night and as of 0830 was 5-8 kts. At 0600 the MHL buoy was registering a metre of 12-second south swell, but as you can see from the pictures, it wasn’t getting into Dee Why. Instead there were only soft ankle to knee-plus bumps. You might find something slightly bigger around at Curly, but don’t get your hopes up too much. Still, it’s a beautiful morning for a swim or an exercise paddle. We should see a high of 29 along the coast with mostly sunny skies and, of course, NE wind in the 15-20 kt range by this afternoon.
Tomorrow is expected to be cloudy but the NE wind may have pushed up a little soft bump at the better exposures. Friday could see a swing to the south, but both the GFS and ECMWF models are showing only low energy, short-period stuff in the metre range at best through the weekend.
Go well!
