I was mortified when I went for a posh facial that turned me into an Oompa Loompa but then things went from bad to worse
A YOUNG woman has gone viral after a beauty treatment went horribly wrong, leaving her skin complexion bright orange.
Make-up and fashion lover Paige, from California, the USA, took to Instagram to share the major disaster which left her looking like ”Oompa Loompa”.
According to the skincare enthusiast, she had forked out for a fancy facial peel to help with the appearance of her acne scars; one that typically goes for anywhere between £200 and £300 here, in the UK.
After visiting the clinic in Beverly Hills, Paige was instructed to leave the solution on her face for several hours until it was 7pm in the evening.
What Paige, however, soon came to regret is that she had parked her vehicle a ten-minute walk away – and although this was pretty mortifying, the worst was yet to follow.
”I walked it, I owned it. I was like ‘We’re going to rock the Oompa Loompa look ten minutes to my car’,” she recalled the experience in the video.
Posing with her bright orange complexion – which was significantly darker than the colour of her neck – Paige revealed that things then took a sharp turn for the worse.
”I get into my car, I start driving home. I am on the hill going up the Sunset Boulevard – and my car decides to stop going forward.
”The accelerator stops working,” the beauty lover was horrified.
”Now, I have to wait for the tow truck to arrive to tow my car – and I’m going to have to explain this to him.”
Mortified, Paige also shared the hilarious story with her pal via text, saying the fail made her want ”to die”.
”If you’re having a bad day I hope think gives you a little laugh. Shout out to Mr. Tow Man,” she chuckled in the caption of the clip.
Since being posted on the platform, where Paige regularly shares fashion and beauty-related content on her page, the video has taken the internet by storm.
Thousands flocked to comments to share their thoughts – but whilst some found it funny, others reckoned Paige was out of touch with the reality for millions across the world.
”Rich people’s problems – the rest of us are trying to buy gas and groceries,” one said.
Another added: ”Maybe your medspa budget should be alotted towards your car.”
A third penned: ”Such a girl move to invest more in self care than your own car.”
Healthy habits to prevent skin ageing
Although a lot of this has to do with your genetics and how much care you take of your skin, there are also a few healthy habits that can make a huge difference.
To avoid sun damage use sunscreen – every day, no matter whether it’s sunny or cloudy.
Avoid sunbeds, which have also been linked to skin cancer and premature ageing.
Avoid smoking, vaping and excessive drinking.
Stick to healthy and nourishing foods, such as green leafy veggies and fruit.
Make sure you get a good amount of sleep – roughly eight hours a night.
”It’s ridiculous to think youd have to explain to him. He doesn’t care,” a fourth chimed in.
”Omgsh – that’s why I always bring a baseball hat,” someone else added.
