Jonathan Van Ness shares his best tips and go-to products for thinning hair – and how to disguise bald spots in front
A HAIRSTYLIST has given hope to people suffering from hair loss or thinning hair.
He shared his best tips and go-to products for fine locks and tricks to disguise bald spots in front.
Most of all, TV personality and hairstylist Jonathan Van Ness reassured viewers in his post, that their hair would improve.
He is a podcast host and YouTube star with 269,999 subscribers.
Jonathan uses his platform to share his love and knowledge of the best hair care solutions.
In this video, he tackled two common problems in response to viewers’ appeals.
- Thinning hair
- Hair loss
THINNING HAIR
A viewer begged for help on behalf of his mom.
“What are the best products for very thin hair? I’m looking to help my mom,” he said.
There were products she could use, said Jonathan, and not just from his own range either.
It was, he said, the “best product for fine, thin hair.
“It is going to set her hair up for success. It’s going to be amazing,” he added.
Next, he suggested a hair foam that will help volumize her mane.
It was pricier, he said, but worth it.
Other products he advocated for thinning hair were:
- Phomollient, by Aveda, $30
- Vitacurl + Mousse by Ouidad, $26
- JVN Air Dry Cream, $26
The JVN air dry cream will add texture, he said, and it wasn’t “clumpy or heavy and was easy for her to style.”
HAIR LOSS
Another viewer was suffering from post-partum hair loss, particularly at the front.
Despairing, she appealed to Jonathan for help.
First, he reassured her it was a common problem.
Styling could make a difference and he suggested she should consider a fringe.
Secondly, some products could help address the issue.
- JVN Pre-wash Scalp Oil, $20
- Bisabolol for anti-breakage
Thirdly, he encouraged her to experiment with scarves, hair ties and hair bands.
“But be easy on yourself and don’t worry. It will come back,” he said.
