The Orissa High Court has dropped contempt proceedings against Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek M after he apologized unconditionally and assured the court he would not comment on pending cases to the media. The SP had previously made public statements linking a murder probe to an election petition. The court accepted his assurance and closed the proceedings.
