Earthquake of 5.4 strikes Indian Ocean

Indian Ocean, December 9 (ANI): An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 struck the Indian Ocean on Tuesday, a statement by the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said.

The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10km, making it susceptible to aftershocks.

In a post on X, the NCS said, 'EQ of M: 5.4, On: 09/12/2025 12:32:54 IST, Lat: 2.80 N, Long: 96.10 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Indian Ocean.'
