SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel University countdown of top moments from the 2016-17 academic year begins Tuesday with six moments that earned honorable mention honors based on a fan vote.

SPRINGFIELD – Evangel University has announced its 2017 Athletics Hall of Fame Class highlighted by the longest tenured athletic director and multiple Hall of Fame inductee, Dr. David Stair, as he is joined by five student-athletes and the 1985 NCCAA National Championship women's basketball team.

SPRINGFIELD -- Over the first days of June, fans are encouraged to vote for the top 10 moments from the 2016-17 year in Evangel athletics.

KANSAS CITY – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2017 Softball All-America teams and Evangel University senior, Megan Washam earned Second Team honors on Friday.

KANSAS CITY – Seniors Megan Washam and Cassidy Gillihan were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes Monday by the national organization.

KANSAS CITY – Junior outfielder, Ryan Frye, was named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete Wednesday as announced by the organization.

SPRINGFIELD – Thirteen Evangel softball players were honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association named Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes for their work in the classroom during the 2016-17 academic year.

KANSAS CITY – The NAIA honored nine Evangel University track and field athletes Friday earning Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors for their hard work in the classroom.
