Two wanted in connection with Abbeville drive-by shooting
ABBEVILLE, La. (KLFY) -- Two people are wanted in connection with a Tuesday drive-by shooting in Abbeville, authorities said.
Tyrese Dugas, 24, is wanted on charges of illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
A juvenile was also charged with principal to illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities in connection with the incident.
Abbeville Police were dispatched at approximately 12:42 a.m. Tuesday to the area of Schlessinger Street and East Martin Luther King Drive in reference to a complaint of gunshots in the area.
Officers found multiple spent rifle shell casings at the intersection of Dutel Street and Greene Street.
Investigators said an older model silver Chevrolet Malibu with damage to the front driver side bumper was being driven by a juvenile and seen turning west onto Greene Street from Schlessinger Street.
Investigators said Dugas, a passenger in the vehicle, began shooting at a residence in the 1300 block of Greene Street, and other subjects returned fire.
The suspect vehicle continued west on Greene Street, turned north onto Dutel Street and left the area.
