Aye. An absolute class act. Just hope he comes back from his ACL as good as he was before. Definitely a future international in my opinion, in a position the national team has struggled in for years.

Agreed, good luck to him

Leigh Leopards • Re: Transfer Gossip - Owen Trout

23 year old prop, who appears to be much sought after. We definitely need some more British props in the team.
Having practically avoided relegation already we can plan for the rest of the season and next season. Leigh appear to be a desirable destination for once, making Chezzy's job much easier. Certainly interesting times ahead.

Warrington Wolves • Re: When Wrench returns...

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Really looking forward to seeing Wrench. For me he still has to prove himself as I thought him as very good in space, which is exciting, but a lot to learn in tight situations & defence. I doubt if Powell will rush him in quickly, unless a gap occurs. Good news though.

Got my tickets already. Hadn’t realised it was a Saturday game kick off 2pm. Wonder if that will catch people out. Also various train strikes on that day.

Gale would have a point to prove v FC and there doesn't seem any point in signing him not to play him. Mid you, I do think that Smith and Lino have improved.
Just for ruck speed, assuming that Gale starts, I'd go with Bowes and Smith as our hookers.
Hood for me, just isn't quick enough.

I must admit I did think of either putting Gale or Smith on the bench. Maybe starting with Smith and then last 30 or so having him play 9 with Gale coming on.

There’s certainly options which is good. Читать дальше...

Leigh Leopards • Transfer Gossip - Owen Trout

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

According to YorkshireLive, who I have to say are normally pretty accurate in such matters, we are in for Owen Trout from Huddersfield. We are apparently 'billed as favourites' to land his signature.

I do enjoy this time of the season

Halifax Panthers • Halifax vs Whitehaven

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Back at home this week against Whitehaven who after a poor start seem to have picked up a bit and have got themselves some wins on the board but lost to Keighley at home last week. Ryan king will be making a quick return to the shay. And for us we just need to make sure our minds do not start to drift to the cup game next week and pay Whitehaven the respect they deserve and get the 2 points. Score wise i will go for 36-16 to fax.

Warrington Wolves • When Wrench returns...

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

It will be interesting to see how team selection goes once Connor Wrench returns (hopefully sooner rather than later). With Wrench being a left centre, that puts Stef Ratchford's place at risk. For me, it has been a mixed bag from Ratchford so far this season. He has done well at times, but at others he just doesn't look like a natural centre, and his passing can sometimes be a bit suspect, in terms of both quality and timing. I recall Williams having a bit of a heated conversation with him during one game... Читать дальше...

Wakefield Trinity • Liam Kaye

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Ran into Liam this morning, took the time to talk, when I asked of his injury.
What a wound, it's infected and a right mess, caused by a stud, and I would have to say it looked to me as if the stud had sharp edges.

Makes Tom Johnstones knees look tame.

Do Refs still check studs.

The interesting thing will be what he does with Dufty / Thewlis / Russell. Whether Powell used the Wakey game as a shot across his bow's so to speak and to give Thewlis some gametime, or whether he feels Dufty's form deserves to be dropped - neither Thewlis or Russell for me deserves to be dropped, so will be interesting but will probably see one of Thewlis or Russell on the bench.

Yeah, I think dropping Dufty was meant as a kick up the backside for him... Читать дальше...

Leeds Rhinos • Re: Sam Walters

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I'm not sure where the idea that he's arrogant has come from?

His media interviews can be a bit weird/frosty but I think that's just his demeanour, his dad and uncle are similar in that respect, and anyway, with the quality of journalism and journalists in our game I'd be prickly with them too (James Deighton aside!) most of them look like they've never done a video call before and often they just ask the same inane questions as the person before, terrible look for the sport.

I’m sure the club will be thinking of some of this but if anything I suggest can be of benefit to the club I love so be it.

Do the hard work and put the foundations in now and it will ultimately drive success from implementation.

I agree. Getting the right structure now saves a lot of work later. Читать дальше...
