Think I'll wear the Ellgren original and save £52. Hope I can just about squeeze into it with room to breathe.

French rugby union are a disgrace, it’s not like it’s a massive threat.

The mutual distrust goes back to WW2 when RL was banned and accused of Nazi appeasement as the game was played in the area of France which was controlled by the Vichy government which obeyed German occupancy. Resentment lives long across the channel but I didn't realise how much until I read Mike Rylance's book.
Maybe the cancellation of RLWC 2025 in France is nothing to do with... Читать дальше...

Why are we going into meltdown, unless we kick off and start shouting you can’t use one of the games against Halifax

Doncaster RLFC • Re: Dons v London Skolars Sunday 21st May 2023 at 3pm

The problem with our history is that there is little room for optimism. We have not run up points against the lower sides to the extent that our rivals have so I personally have no faith that we can close on Dewsbury's for and against column.
The match at Oldham this Sunday is a huge indicator as to Oldhams intentions and they are saying its a sell out crowd. The problem with that is the limited capacity to the venue and the fact that the admission is free for all, so in essence its an headline grab and nothing more. Читать дальше...

Warrington Wolves • Brad Dwyer

Always a bit nervous when players move to Saints or Wigan. Clark is still a fantastic player.

I am sure everybody would love for Clark to stay but this is what happens in a salary capped sport.

From what I heard when Dwyer left it is almost the same situation. Player wants X. Club offer Y and if the player can get X at another club they move on.

Even though I think Powell would love for Clark to stay I do think powell wants a bit more out of his hookers. Walker and Dwyer both have a kicking game. Читать дальше...

Doncaster RLFC • Dons v London Skolars Sunday 21st May 2023 at 3pm

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

The Dons take on the bottom side in a game that must provide a good opportunity to boost our points difference.

After last weekend's defeat, where do we stand? Do we think Dewsbury are going to win the league and we're in a race for second or can we realistically catch them?

Dews: 8 16 +247
Dons: 7 12 +88
Oldh: 6 10 +124
Huns: 6 8 +136
Work: 7 8 -14
Roch: 7 6 -73

If you believe all of the above then you are very naïve. Clubs may not be allowed to speak to a player directly but talking to their agent is not an issue especially as most agents handle multiple players. All clubs do it and I am sure we have in the past so no point playing the "Holier that thou" card.

You may be right about agents but if a club openly approached a player under contract they would be fined or worse.

I was quite excited when signed Dywer, I know he has his faults, but was really looking forward to him injecting some pace off the bench, but for every good run (every other game) he gives out a few poor passes and makes the wrong choices. Targeting I defence too. He will be behind a much better pack, but even when we our forwards have dominated he still have done enough to justify his faults. Not sure he will be cheap either. Can't fault his effort though.

Rumours are that Saints have offered a transfer fee for Croft. That presumably means Dodd is off to the NRL next season for a fee (if true)

The way that Dodd is playing, a NRL club would be mad to sign him for a fee.

That would be a good move. Wigan should be all over this as well.

Yep that deal was so close to happening, who knows how it would have ended up. It was pretty much signed sealed and delivered, he just wanted a guarantee from the RFL that we would receive a franchise and TBH the rightly at the time would not do that.

It just isn't true though, is it? It's like we didn't just post 40 points at Wigan. You've said that you don't like the coaches personality - fair enough - but that does seem to colour the majority of your posts.

Just heard he has signed for Cas too. OK the lad is a fringe player but I would sooner have him than the likes of Lineham who we are paying a big wage. Kershaw may not be the best, but at least you know he will give it his all when he pulls on the shirt.

They need to realize that when a smaller player runs into a bigger one then the smaller player is going to get put on his booty.
