Gwyneth Paltrow Had a Secret Crush on This Almost Co-Star While Dating Brad Pitt, Biography Claims
Back in the 90s, Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt were the it-couple. They were everywhere, and everyone loved it. They fell for one another back in 1994 after working together on the hit movie, Se7en. It all seemed like a fairytale, especially after they got engaged in 1996. But a year later, it all came crashing down and they split up. While his publicist claimed one thing, it seems to be a whole other thing. In the upcoming book, Gwyneth: The Biography, it was alleged that he was insecure about her success, but author Amy Odell claims another thing: Paltrow allegedly had a crush on a co-star at the same time.
Per an excerpt obtained by People, Odell said: “Gwyneth expressed doubts to one crew member that Pitt was right for her, and admitted that she had a crush on Hugh Grant.”
A crush on Hugh Grant? How did this happen? They didn’t meet, as far as fans know, in the 90s, but did hang in similar circles since they were pals with Helena Bonham Carter, Colin Firth, plus Paltrow ran in the same fashion circles with Grant’s girlfriend at the time, Elizabeth Hurley, plus, there’s Emma Thompson. So they could’ve met in passing since they shared so many pals.
But did they ever meet? Or date? They never dated, but we think they did finally meet back in the early 2000s.
Per Entertainment Weekly, Paltrow was originally signed on to play the lead in the 2002 film, Two Weeks Notice alongside Grant. However, she dropped out in pre-production for unknown reasons (but many think it was due to her grieving the death of her father). Sandra Bullock was later attached to the lead role.
