Dubois, Barancyhk on Paul-Woodley PPV
Three new matchups have been finalized for the Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley Showtime PPV fight card. Former world champion Ivan Barancyhk will compete along with WBA interim heavyweight champion Daniel “Dynamite” Dubois and UK star Tommy “TNT” Fury making their U.S. debuts in separate bouts on Sunday, August 29 from Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio.
A former junior welterweight world champion, Baranchyk (20-2, 13 KOs) will face unbeaten Montana Love (15-0, 7 KOs) in a 10-rounder. Dubois (16-1, 15 KOs) will face Joe Cusumano (19-3, 17 KOs) in a non-title 10-rounder, and Fury (6-0, 4 KOs), the younger brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, will square off against MMA fighter Anthony “Pretty Boy” Taylor in a six-round, 180-pound catchweight fight.
Looks like top-10 ranked junior middleweight and 2016 U.S. Olympian Charles Conwell against Lucas Bastida won’t be on the PPV.
Baranchyk returns to the ring after fighting in the 2020 Fight of the Year against Jose Zepeda last October. The two fighters combined to score a staggering eight knockdowns in the instant classic won by Zepeda.
The five-fight SHOWTIME PPV telecast will be headlined by undefeated YouTuber Jake “The Problem Child” Paul against former UFC champion Tyron “The Chosen One” Woodley. The card also features the previously announced world championship showdown between WBC/WBO female featherweight champion and women’s P4P queen Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano and super bantamweight world champion Yamileth Mercado.
