US Vice President Mike Pence’s chief of staff, Mark Short, has contracted the coronavirus, Axios reported, citing a White House statement. The publication calls Mr. Short the closest assistant to the vice president and a key figure in the White House administration in interaction with the press. Pence’s own COVID-19 test came back negative.
“Today, Mark Short, the vice president’s chief of staff, tested positive for COVID-19, he went into quarantine and is helping to identify those with whom he came in contact.
