The information that Hungary has decided not to order the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine from Russia is “another example of fake news in respected media.” This was announced to RBC by the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

The fund noted that the first batch of the drug arrived in Hungary on December 28, and the Russian side is ready to supply it with all the necessary vaccine in January-March 2021.

“RDIF is working with regulators to obtain regulatory approvals in Hungary,” the fund added.

Earlier, Reuters, citing the head of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Administration Gergey Gulyash, reported that the country would not buy the vaccine from Russia, but would purchase the drug either through the procurement mechanism of the European Union or directly from China.
