Why Steve Kerr thinks Stephen Curry’s injury could be ‘a good thing’
CHARLOTTE — There are many reasons the Warriors are unique: four All-Stars in their prime, a bench loaded with former starters, gaudy assist totals. Perhaps nothing better encapsulates what makes Golden State so rare, however, than these 11 words head coach Steve Kerr uttered after shoot-around Wednesday when asked about losing two-time MVP Stephen Curry to a sprained right ankle for at least two weeks: “In a weird way, it’s a good thing for our team.” The extended absence of arguably the best shooter in league history would doom most NBA teams’ seasons. For a Warriors club that has struggled to focus, it is a chance to tighten things up.
