[Williamson] Sixteen Seniors Receive Three-Year Varsity Letterman Jackets
Williamson honored sixteen senior student-athletes with commemorative Varsity Letterman jackets on Tuesday afternoon. The jackets were awarded to the students for participating in a varsity sport all three years during their time at Williamson.
"It was a long-standing tradition that the college somehow got away from doing over the years. One of the first things President Rounds did when he first came onboard five years ago was reinstate that tradition," explained Williamson's athletic director Dale Plummer.
"Our athletes sacrifice a lot to participate in varsity athletics at Williamson. Participating in athletics for one year takes a great deal of sacrifice and commitment. To participate in athletics all three years takes a commitment that is off the charts so for us to be able to say 'thank you' to them for all they have done so is a wonderful thing.
"We could not be more proud of the work our guys do on the field, in the classroom and in the community. This is just a small way for us to acknowledge all their hard work and dedication on to Williamson during their time at the college."
