Embracing triumphs after enduring a tragedy
Serra junior quarterback Luke Bottari looked left once, then twice. He checked to the right, then came back left again before completing a pass to a running back for about a 25-yard completion.
It might have seemed like a meaningless play in a a 47-14 win over St. Ignatius a month ago, but it was unforgettable to Serra coach Patrick Walsh.
“He went through five progressions,” Walsh said. “He threw a swing pass on the backside of a fifth progression. That’s what you call being an absolute student of the game and understanding your offense. The kid went to his fifth option.”
Bottari is all about options.
