The Hawaii attorney general's office says witnesses summoned in a toddler assault investigation refused to testify.
The office announced Wednesday the investigation is ending without any charges.
Chelsea and Rey Valiente say the state attorney general's office told them the witnesses subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury invoked their fifth amendment right against self-incrimination. A spokesman for the office confirms the witnesses refused to testify.
Attorney General Doug Chin says in a release that despite multiple witnesses summoned to testify, a suspect couldn't be identified.
