[Women's Basketball] Lady Threshers' Comeback Attempt Staved off by Warriors, Fall 63-61

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel women's basketball team played their final home game of 2017 last night against the Sterling Warriors. It was obvious from the get-go the Warriors did not have an answer for Abby Schmidt (FR/Newton, Kan.), as she owned the paint and wound up going off for a career high 31 points. Sterling however did have an answer for the rest of the team, as they held every other Lady Thresher to 30 points combined. With the game being as wide open as 20 points with only seven minutes remaining, Bethel put on a furious comeback attempt and brought it within two points in the final seconds. Kesley Potter grabbed an offensive rebound with literally a second left but her second-chance attempt was heavily contested and unable to find it's way to the hoop. Bethel's efforts fell just short, as they took the loss 63-61.
