Shawnee State University is accepting applications for a faculty member to instruct a variety of courses covering a range of topics in computer science with a focus on techniques applicable to game programming and development.
Duties of the position include: Instructing undergraduate courses in Digital Simulation & Gaming Engineering Technologies program. Classes taught might include:
Introductory through advanced programming
Mathematics and programming of 3D graphics
Game engine use and design
Artificial intelligence
Engaging with students in out-of-classroom co-curricular activities. Opportunities include:
Representing SSU at industry conferences (ECGC, GDEX, GDC)Coaching e-sports teams
Advising and mentoring students applying for jobs/internshipsMentoring students (gaming) clubs
Teaching workshops and summer camps to area residents
Engaging in professional development and scholarly activities such as:
Taking courses, attending workshops
Undertaking inter-disciplinary research and projects with fellow SSU faculty (especially gaming arts)Refining curriculum to match changing industry needs.
