UEFA bans Dani Carvajal for intentionally earning yellow card

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane brushes off any notion that he's looking ahead to the possibility of drawing PSG next round. Dani Carvajal will miss the first leg of Real Madrid's Champions League round of 16 tie after being suspended by UEFA for deliberately seeking a yellow card.

European bosses have handed Spanish defender Carvajal a two-match ban following his booking in the final minute of the 6-0 win over Apoel Nicosia on Nov. 21.

He was charged by UEFA with "receiving a yellow card on purpose." The booking was imposed for wasting time when taking a throw-in.
