[Women's Basketball] Valko Leads Lady Warriors to Road Win, 81-74

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich.- The Rochester College women's basketball team improved their record to 7-3 with an 81-74 victory over WHAC member, Concordia University.

The Lady Warriors struggled to handle the Cardinals in the first half. Concordia started the game by taking a 24-15 lead into the start of the second quarter. They led the entire way into the locker room with a 45-31 lead.

Things were different in the second half.  The Lady Warriors outscored the Cardinals 50-29 behind 59% shooting from the field, including 9-12 from beyond the three-point line. The Lady Warriors forced the Cardinals into 19 turnovers on the night.  

The Lady Warriors victory stemmed from a stellar night of shooting, including 27-56 from the field, 12-22 from behind the arc and 15-21 from the foul line. 

SeniorMaddy Valko(Marysville, Mich./St. Clair County Community College) led all scorers with 24 points. Valko ended her night with an impressive 6-8 behind the arc. 

Senior Allyssa Copley (Holly, Mich./Cleveland State University) scored 16 points to go along with 11 rebounds while juniorRio Dudgeon(Macomb, Mich./Grand Valley State University) scored 15 points.

The Lady Warriors tip-off against University of Northwestern Ohio Racers home this Saturday. Tip off is set for 1pm.
