Universal Crosses $5 Billion at Worldwide Box Office With Hit Sequels and Blumhouse Horror
Disney hit the mark. Warner Bros. hit the mark. Now Universal is joining the club as it has reached $5 billion for the year at the worldwide box office.
In some respects, Universal’s year at the box office has been a microcosm for the box office as a whole. While Universal has done well domestically with $1.6 billion grossed — third among all studios — it got to this point off of a huge $3.4 billion haul from international markets, primarily from “The Fate of the Furious” and “Despicable Me 3.”
