9 suspects arrested in Mississippi shootings that injured 3
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Police have arrested nine suspects on charges stemming from a shootout at a Mississippi apartment complex that wounded three people.
Local media report that dozens of shots were fired Monday afternoon at the Bonhomie Apartments in Hattiesburg. Hattiesburg police said three people were injured, with at least one hospitalized in critical condition.
Police say the shootings may have involved a dispute between two gangs. By Tuesday, nine people had been arrested, most on charges of criminal gang activity and conspiracy to commit a felony. The suspects ranged in age from 41 to 18. Among them was D'Andre Humbles, a football player who helped lead Hattiesburg High School to 2017's state championship game.
