Doug Jones won Alabama and people are so, so happy

Hooooly crap, Doug Jones did it. 

On Tuesday night, he became the first Democrat to win a Senate seat in Alabama since 1992, back when Kris Kross was still a thing. 

Looks like saying homophobic and racist things — along with being accused of sexually assaulting teenagers — didn't work out too well for Republican Roy Moore. Now, the GOP's advantage in the Senate has been trimmed to 51-49, which is why the party could try to rush its tax plan through Congress as quickly as possible. 

Jones supporters, after freaking out about that damn New York Times needle, couldn't contain their joy after several news outlets called the race for the Democrat. That included Hillary Clinton and Republican Sen. Jeff Flake.  Read more...
