[Men's Basketball] Dominant Defense Gives Vanguard Edge Over Warriors

COSTA MESA, Calif. — The name of the game was defense for #22 Vanguard (7-2) in a matchup against Westcliff University (1-10) where the Lions claimed the crown with a score of 121-63. An effort that sprawled throughout the Lions bench gave Vanguard the dominant edge over the Warriors with over half of the Blue and Gold's points coming from the bench. Connor Griffin, in only his second appearance of the season, led the Pride to the victory with a team-high 18 points and seven rebounds, tripling his points in the second half. Donte Williams was just behind with 16 points while Sam Saufferer contributed with 15 points of his own.
