Bloodshed averted as soldiers, police officers clash at Ilesa motor park

Some soldiers and police officers on Tuesday, December 12, clashed in Akure, Ondo state capital city, the Nation reports.
The incident, NAIJ.com gathered occurred at the Ilesa Motor Park in Akure.
Eye witnesses at the scene of the fight said the soldiers had prevented the police officers from arresting some suspects in the area.
The eye witness said the soldiers had insisted that the police officers could not take the suspects who their crimes was unknown.
Sources also noted that the 'unclear' offence of the suspects did not warrant an arrest by the police.
However, a timely intervention of leaders of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) at the motor park led to an early resolution of their differences.

Some of the residents said the incident could have resulted to a serious bloodshed if the NURTW leaders had not intervened.
Also, there were some drivers and passers-by converged in the area while the two groups exchanged altercations.

Muse on her Facebook page shared a video of the police officer harassing her on her way to work.
According to Nigerian rapper, Ruggedybaba, who posted the information on his Instagram page, the police officer involved has been arrested after he was identified by the police.
