Tinubu may become Nigeria’s vice president in 2019 as Osinbajo prepares to go back to pastoral work - Report claims
The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, may become President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate, a report by Daily Sun has indicated.
The report, which has not been independently verified, says while Tinubu could become the next vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo could return to the pulpit as pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
The report quoted a source as indicating that Osinbajo may have notified the church of his interest to return to pastoral work.

According to the report, it is believed that Tinubu is being considered because of his ability to mobilise the south-west in the forthcoming general elections.
“It was gathered that Osinbajo’s replacement with Tinubu is being mooted as a way to have a solid South West support for the APC, in the face of a South East-South-South alliance in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” the report quoted sources as saying.
According to the report, until recently, Buhari and Tinubu had a frosty relationship and this caused fear the party could lose. This, it said, made it important to woo the former governor of Lagos.
It added that series of meetings had been held to concretise this decision, but added that Tinubu’s camp denied the claim.
A senior member of the camp was quoted as saying: “We don’t have anything to say on the matter now,” but added: “let’s talk more on this later in the day.”
