COMPETITIVE TRYOUT INFORMATION FOR SPRING 2018 SEASON: The competitive soccer program will be conducting supplemental tryouts to potentially fill any roster spots on teams that become available before the start of the Spring 2018 season. If you played on a competitive team with the HF Soccer Club for the Fall 2017 season you DO NOT HAVE TO ATTEND THESE TRYOUTS. Only former competitive level players(did not play Fall 2017) wanting to return and recreational level players interested in joining the competitive program for the first time need to attend.
WHERE: Homewood Flossmoor High School Field House
WHEN: Sunday, January 7, 2018
REGISTER AT EVENT: 5:00 to 5:30 pm
TRYOUT: 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
(Please plan on being at tryout for entire 90 minutes and come early to register)
WHO: Boys and Girls born in years 2003 through 2008
WHAT TO WEAR/BRING: Come dressed to play soccer. The tryouts will be held on the court surface in the field house so gym shoes or indoor soccer shoes are appropriate. Bring your soccer ball but leave that water bottle at home. We will provide opportunities to take a break to get water from the fountains located in the building.
Please be advised that a tryout does not guarantee a spot on a team. Players will be assigned teams as necessary to fill any open roster spots.
The competitive program for the Spring 2018 season runs from March 1 through July 31. Competitive teams train twice per week with games played generally on Sundays. Along with a greater commitment of time there is also a greater commitment of financial resources. The final registration fee for the Spring competitive program is yet to be determined but will be at least $300 per player. There are no discounts offered for multiple children from the same family. Additionally there is a uniform fee of approximately $75 to $100. Finally, there are travel costs associated with play in this program as games are held at locations across the greater metropolitan Chicago region. Travel can involve distances as far north as Schaumburg, IL, as far west as Aurora, IL, as far south as Bourbonnais, IL or as far east as Northwest Indiana.
Before attending tryouts please seriously consider whether or not your family can make both the financial and time committments required for participation in our competitive soccer program.
