That weird-ass milking scene in 'The Last Jedi' was a lot of work, you guys

Star Wars: The Last Jedi polarized audiences so much that we can't even agree on loving or hating the infamous blue milk scene. It turns out director Rian Johnson was heavily invested in the realism of that scene, as elaborated by creature designer Neal Scanlan.

"It was designed to be able to breathe and there was a milk delivery system, on the inside," Scanlan told Collider. 

Also on the inside: Two full-sized human puppeteers and a fully-functional milking system. The puppeteers (who enter by opening the creatures head, sure) had monitors on the inside to follow the scene while the milking occured.
