Person struck and killed by Caltrain in Palo Alto
A Caltrain struck and killed a person on the tracks Saturday morning at the California Avenue Station in Palo Alto, officials said.
Dan Lieberman, a spokesman for Caltrain, said the person was “trespassing on the tracks” when the person was struck by northbound train at 10:17 a.m. The person has not yet been identified.
There were 596 passengers onboard the train, and no other injuries were reported.
Emergency personnel were on-scene and trains were single-tracking through the area with a 20 mph speed restriction.
