Do we trust in Gary? We travel in hope but closer examination reveal three things on the debit side of Gary Monk and his Costly Orchestra:-
1) So far, since arriving he has got 16 points from 12 matches, and his team of “chosen “ players threw away two points in their first home game and lost today.(as an aside for those posters who have been mocking Villa incessantly then take a look at the league table). Now maths isn’t my strongest point but extrapolating that through to the coming season we would finish on 61 points or 12 th place last season season. Not bad, and much better than a relegation scrap on the last day of the season, but I have a feeling that we have swaped Gary R. for Gary M.
2) His treatment of senior players such as Stockdale, Grounds and Kuszczak is nothing short of a disgrace and by excluding them through his obdurance because of some psychometric crystal ball.passed to him by the likes of Mystic Meg he is risking what the coming season may have to offer, particularly if injuries in key positions occur, which is the norm.
If we can't put them out on loan then we are likely to have a core of highly paid professionals footballers playing for the youth team. If they do go out on loan nobody is going to be mad enough to pay Stockdale's current salary so that we are, at least going to have to foot a chunk of the bill. When SC and GM made unsavoury public remarks their were posts containing dogs abuse about their lack of professionalism. The poisonous fingers have obviously, so far, been tucked away for, "Our Gary"
3) Pederson looks like an accident waiting to happen with elements of his play and Monk was sacked by Middlesbrough for wasting big money on rubbish players most of whom were sold on at a big loss to the club..
