[Women's Soccer] 2018 Season Preview: Women's Soccer
MONTREAT, N.C. - In her first year at the helm of the Cavaliers women's soccer program, head coach Tina Murphy is ready to focus her team on deepening the details of their technical and tactical foundations in order to excel this season. To Coach Murphy, this means focusing on the details of each training session one day at a time, one game at a time.
This season, the Cavs are looking forward to testing their preseason preparation against their conference schedule. "We highly respect the strength of the teams in our conference, and we want to improve upon our preparation to face them," said Coach Murphy.
As far as losses from last season, Coach Murphy says that every loss from every previous season is important. As a team, it is important for the Cavs to look at and analyze those losses, and detect the breakdowns in order to find the details they need to work on moving forward to win games.
Off the field, Coach Murphy wants to help her team focus on their own personal development in order to become better well-rounded individuals.
The Cavs open their 2018 season Aug. 25 at home against the University of South Carolina-Beaufort, starting at 7:15 p.m. They then play a couple of non-conference games before returning home to open conference play against Union College on Sept. 8.
