[Football] Tigers blank Royals in season opener
Offense, defense balance key
Tigers defense and offense both put up quality performances against Warner University on opening day. Georgetown College (1-0) handed the ball off to Kyree Hawkins early in the second quarter for a one-yard score and never looked back as they dominated the Royals (0-1) 49-0.
It was a slow start for both teams in the first quarter as they both put up zero points with not a lot of offense to show. However, the No. 7 Tigers sparked as they put up 21 points in the second quarter. It started off when Hayden Shelton handed the ball off the Hawkins for the first score. The Tigers closed off the half when Nick Conley ran for a 24-yard score to put Georgetown up 21-0.
