Squad vs Spain and Switzerland
A new campaign and two very tough games.
The Spain match is comptetitive and given the squad at the World Cup was already youthful in its feel I would be unsure how many more young players Id want to chuck in at this stage (Cook, Abraham etc). The Swiss are also no mugs.
However a few picks from last campaign will likely have played their last England matches - Cahill, Young etc.
I think its normally a 25-man squad picked for these types of matches, so heres my pick:
Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford (Everton), Joe Hart (Burnley), Alex McCarthy (Southampton)
Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Kyle Walker (Manchester City), Kieran Trippier (Tottenham), Ryan Bertrand (Southampton), Luke Shaw (Manchester United), Harry Maguire (Leicester), James Tarkowski (Burnley), John Stones (Man City), Joe Gomez (Liverpool)
Midfielder: Jordan Henderson, (Liverpool), Eric Dier, Dele Alli (both Tottenham), Jesse Lingard (Man Utd), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea), Leon Bailey (Bayer Leverkusen), Phil Foden (Manchester City), Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund)
Forwards: Raheem Sterling (Man City), Theo Walcott (Everton), Harry Kane (Tottenham), Marcus Rashford (Man Utd).
I think Southgate choice will deviate a fair bit from the above but there we are.
