Oakland: Grand Lake Theater’s longtime operator buys the building — and ensures its future as a movie theater

Allen Michaan, who took over a 95-year lease on the building as the theater's operator in 1980, bought the building from the nine owners last week for $3.75 million, ensuring a future for the theater as he knows it.
