McConnell plans vote ‘this week,’ FBI widens Kavanaugh probe

The White House has given the FBI permission to expand its probe of Brett Kavanaugh at least slightly, according to two people familiar with the matter, after facing a barrage of criticism over the weekend about the constricted investigation.
