Not Taking Care of a Brooks Saddle

I recently acquired a new commuter bike and the seller through in a Brooks Swallow B15 saddle for free.

While I love the history and aesthetic of the Brooks, it seems pretty impractical for somebody who commutes year round, rain or shine, and locks his bike up outside an office for 8+ hours...
