LIVE UPDATES: Sanwo-Olu, Ambode in final battle for APC ticket as party members troop out to vote
48 hours after Akinwunmi Ambode held a press conference telling residents of Lagos why he is the best aspirant for the ticket of All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of 2019, the governor is now slugging it out with Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the party’s primaries.

12.59: 1.03pm: The voting process of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary was disrupted for a while at Ward G north, Abesan, in Alimosho Local Government Area as thugs chased away members of the party.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the thugs numbering about 15 invaded the Abesan High School, venue of the exercise at 9.45am on Monday, flogging members, preventing them from getting accredited.
The motive of the hoodlums, as well as their sponsors, could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
Some policemen at the venue later responded to the situation by arresting some of the hoodlums and restoring normalcy.
NAN, however, observed that there was a large turnout of party members waiting to cast their votes for either Governor Akinwunmi Ambode or Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

12:06: Bola Tinubu arrives Alausa ward c to cast his votes. Tinubu declared: "I borught Ambode to the people. He was a civil servant under me. He performed well as a civil servant. After courses at Havard, I introduced him to the people and they accepted. So if the people say they do not want you anymore, so be it."

11.59am: Bola Tinubu says this is what democracy is about. "This is democracy and we are trying to show the world what democracy is about. You can see the party faithful. We can't buy all of them."
He said this is what the party members want. "They want openness and want to partake in electing the people who govern them," he said.

11.57am: Early unconfirmed result from the Ward F in Ifako/Ijaiye shows that Sanwo-Olu led with 3020 while Ambode scored zero.

11.35am: Early results reported from the Alausa area, the seat of power in Ikeja show that Babajide Sanwo-Olu has defeated Governor Ambode. At the ward C area of the Alausa, Olanrewaju Yahaya, the electoral officer, announced that Sanwo-Olu polled 960 votes against AMbode who secured just four votes.
Ward C is where Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the party, is registered.

11am: Security operatives take over major positions in Lagos state where the primary elections are to hold.
At the secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Agbado Oke-Odo local council development authority, heavily armed security men were positioned as members turned out to vote between Ambode and Sanwo-Olu.
Reports say as early as 7am, members of the party had trooped into the Ekoro road area of the LCDA.
